Guest guest
Hi, (Hamilton), welcome! I too am new to the group but was diagnosed in 1986. I can identify with the ROCK / BOULDER approach to information-gathering about NF2 fom doctors. I had an MRI on a Wednesday and on Friday I had a phone call from my doctor. He did not ask me if I was sitting down, or if I was alone, or anything at all. He simply told me over the phone that I had 3 brain tumors and one was one was so large he wanted me in the hospital early Monday morning to have it removed. It was an avalance of boulders, let me tell you. And, I agree with that you are neither alone or knocked down. (Although I have felt severely battered more than once in all this....) I figure it's like getting thrown from a horse: get back up and show the horse who's boss. After a few bruises it actually begins to work. Again, welcome. Your being here is a sign that you are on the rise.
