Re: Mid to lower back pain

Hi ,

We have two SI joints in our low back, one on each side. The SI (sacro-

ileac) joints help connect our sacrum to our pelvis. So I do think it

might be possible that RA would effect our SI joints. Last week I

strained mine on the right side. Still have trouble standing up and

bending over from my hips. It is very painful too. I try to stretch my

low back daily when I can.

My lower back was hurting me last year and my rheumy told me that you

don't get RA in your lower back. I am not sure about the mid back

though. When I first was diagnosed with RA, I had pain in my upper

back (above my bra strap) and they said that was RA. I hope you feel

better soon.

Mine is mid to low. Not down near my tailbone but below the bra

strap. It would kind of be near the kidney area but like I said

those were checked not long ago. For me I think it may be a muscle

connective tissue thing. It is mainly on my right side. Who knows.

Thank for your replies. Every little bit helps.
