Guest guest
Kris, Many of us have other health issues and take a lot of medications. Not once has anything been said to me about other drugs interactions. I know the doctor should have caught this before prescribing but they don't always check. Guest guest
Hi Kris, This is Steph in Virginia. I have had RA for 9 years now. When I was allowed to work part time after the onset of my RA, I worked as a pharmacy tech at Eckerd's. That is probaby why I know so much about my meds, both how they work and the side effects. For me, I started Methotrexate 2 weeks after being diagnosed and Enbrel 4 months later. The best thing a pharmacist said to me was that the side effects listed in the medication info sheet about MTX were rare, and they included people who took MTX for RA and for cancer. Understanding that helped me in choosing to start it and, eventually start the biologics. When I started Enbrel in 2000, the long term side effects were unknown, and the ones that were listed included people who had other health problems. Take care, Steph Hi I am a second year pharmacy student at the University of Arizona, doing a project on RA. I have a family member that has RA and my interest for this subject stems from them. I was hoping to receive feedback from this community on a few questions, for my project and to help me to become a better future pharmacist. What kind of information would you like to hear from a pharmacist that you think could help you manage your RA?
