You shouldn't have to put up with that. You should have been under and not feeling a thing. I have heard (colons) that some are twisted or kinked and that's why people have pain when they have their procedure. I also read another message from a man who went thru the same thing as you did with the colonoscopy...unbelieveble as it may be....now they will perform only sigmoidoscopies on him. I guess it is easier. But first of all, get yourself another dr, make sure he knows your history and story about what happened to you. You should never have felt any pain. I would have been writing nasty letters to that dr. And you do have to have it done, since colon ca runs in your family. The prep should always be the worst part. I'm sorry that you went thru all of this. You need to be under sedation. I hope the others on group can give you more help.
