Guest guest
Thanks ! Actually, I did delete. I can't delete from everyone else's computers, but I did delete on the group list. I realize where some of the things I said sounded like I thought everyone should believe as I do... my apologizes to everyone. Sorry! >From: " " <Rheumatoid.Arthritis.Support@...> >Reply- > >Subject: Re: [ ] Re: GROUP RELATED - Regarding religious posts >Date: Tue, 21 Oct 2008 20:37:04 -0500 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >X-Originating-IP: 209.85.217.19 >X-Sender: rheumatoid.arthritis.support@... >Received: from n36d.bullet.mail.sp1. Guest guest
I have been skipping them myself. I don't like when someone elses religion is " pushed down my throat " . This is why I don't push mine. [ ] Re: GROUP RELATED - Regarding religious posts I have been skipping those out of place posts also. Guest guest
Tawny, Don't worry. There's nothing wrong with asking for or offering prayers. Guest guest
Add politics to it.... *~ Kami ~* [ ] Re: GROUP RELATED - Regarding religious posts Thanks for clarifying that, . I was sitting here thinking wow, Wow, WOW! I am not the " pushy " type, but I do take offense when someone tells me how to speak (or in this case type), as I speak from my heart. , I thought your initial request was very gracious and respectful of all beliefs. I was just floored by some of the replies that came afterwards. If I may clarify things a little here - The purpose of this group is to share thoughts, ideas, symptoms and treatments as it relates to RA and associated diagnoses. While prayer requests and offers are acceptable, it is requested that indepth, theological lessons and discussions be reserved for private conversations rather than posted in the group. Do you think that covers it?..........Doreen > > Tawny, > > Don't worry. Guest guest
Doreen, Basically, I'm asking that people not to mention or discuss controversial topics that aren't directly related to RA. In this case it was religion. It could have been the US presidential candidates or abortion. Some members don't believe in God. Those who do don't necessarily use the same name for their God. There are many holy books. Lots of theories on good and evil, free will, illness, heaven and hell, and so on. Content, both long and short, can be out-of-bounds. Staying away from controversial subjects which are off-topic is usually expected of those participating in any online group, not just this one.
