Guest guest
Hi Netta, So sorry to hear about your MRIs!! I have had spinal radiation this spring. I had it done at a cancer center in the city. They did C-1 through C-7 because the tumors there are soooooo scary. They are in my spinal column and very involved with the cord. The Dr says its a hairs breath from real trouble. This treatment is painless. Its like getting an X-ray everyday. I had 22 treatments at 200 rad, a total of 4400 rad. I have found no evidence of tumors growing after this treatment. I am looking!! Swelling in the spine is not an issue like the brain. This treatment will take up to 3 years before bad effects are known, paralysis, numbness, weakness. I haven't found any proof of regrowth for the radiated tumors or the area radiated. They (the Dr has told me because of the NF, new tumors may form) I made this decision because I was told surgery was not an option, also surgery scares the hell outta me I don't recover from it well either. My heart goes out to you in your choice. I also had gamma knife surgery on my right AN, so any questions on either, feel free to throw my way, I can answer by my experience. Lori:) lphibbs@... need any information about radiation in the spine

Guest guest
Lori..Hey!! Are your tumors IN your spinal cord or around it?? I have two INSIDE, which makes surgery very risky. Wondering if radiation is an option for me? Carol Lori Phibbs wrote: > Hi Netta, > > So sorry to hear about your MRIs!! I have had spinal radiation this > spring. Guest guest
Carol?? Me, Lori. The tumors (and there a lots, big and small, throughout the whole spine) are IN my spinal cord and also around the cord, within the spinal column. I've done the neck (C-spine) looking into the T-spine now while on Hydroxyurea.. Basically I am so screwed!!! Re: need any information about radiation in the spine > Lori..Hey!!
