Guest guest
> Hi all, > I WAS on Remicaid..... I expect to > have anxiety attacks when I get Enbrel...Great!! I have been on Enbrel since May, and it has worked well with me. Not everyone has anxiety attacks. (My dr thinks that Remicade is much better than Enbrel, tho.) I feel that stress can cause our anxiety attacks, mainly because we feel like we have no control over what is happening to us!! That is stressful and so frustrating, especially if you tend to be a control person, like I am. When I was trying to get on the list for Enbrel last Fall, it was just one major screwup after another, between my Dr's office, and the insurance company, but mainly my Dr's office. Finally, after getting a real runaround, I went into the office and " spoke " to one of the nurses, who was less than helpful and very condescending to me. I am sure when I left that she thought that I was " the patient from Hell " for that day. She told me that it " might " be a couple of weeks before my paperwork came to the top of the list to be worked on. It was their errors that had delayed the submission of paperwork for about 6 weeks. But, I went home, sat down at my computer, proceeded to write a letter to my doctor detailing the series of events and mistakes and how very upset I was about the situation. I faxed a copy of the letter to his office (knowing that the office would see it), and mailed the hard copy to him. The next day, the pharmacy called to tell me that they had just received the go ahead to order my Enbrel. Amazing. For once, I used that energy in a positive manner, and I felt so good about it!!!! It still took a while to get the Enbrel, but I certainly felt happier with the situation. But, I would love to be on Remicade, but my insurance company won't cover it. That may be my next project to undertake. I can't believe that I am actively trying to get on medication that a few months ago I was so upset about even considering!! Guest guest
I have no anxiety attacks on Enbrel! As a matter of fact, depression was worse before Enbrel because the pain was worse. Remember, everyone handles the meds differently. Think positive.....that's half the battle. Best of luck. [ ] Remicaid > Hi all, > I WAS on Remicaid untill Jan 4,02. Guest guest
hi, i also have low response to many medications (sometimes none) and many of htem emake me sick as well. I have taken almost all the medications available for arthritis in the past 26 yeaars. I am on remicade and have been for a while. - IT IS THE BEST. Remicade allows me to feel better andtake care of myself instead of having to rely on others. If this medicine works for her then there is a chance she may feel better hten she has in a long time. It is a bit of a pain to have ot go in an get an I.V. and it used to scare me alot. even the idea of getting hte iv scared me. However in my case it has been more then worth it. I only wish that when i was 16 that the medicine had been offered. I probably would have less joint damage and enjoyed highschool much more. if you have any questions about hte medicine and how it makes you feel or anything - email me fgilliann@... i hope your daughter feel better soon! gillianne vanmaldegiam <vanmaldegiam@...> wrote: Hi, my doctor just informed me that my daughter, , 16 is not responding to the methotrexate and humira she is currently taking and wants to consider an IV infusion of remicaid. Has anyone else had this done, and what were the results? I am very scared that we're just going down the wrong path. I hope one of you can shed some light on this for me. Thanks. Guest guest
, I was on remicade YEARS ago and I was able to tell the difference the next day. When I moved, my new rheumy didn't want to treat it aggressively. When I was approved to try it again, I had high hopes. I had my 1st infusion last week and I couldn't tell the difference. I was told that it may take a few infusions before I feel relief. Don't give up on it yet...it is a great medication. > > I have had my second infusion of Remicaid and, to be honest, I think > maybe I was having too high of expectations for it to work.
