Guest guest
hmmmmm, thalidomide is the father of a whole new class of drugs called anti angio-genesis. Endiostatin is the only one that has stuck in my mind, but you could find info on the others on the web as well. I found an article that Endiostatin was going into trial at Dana Faber?? is that the name??? This past spring, 2000!! These tests are for prostate cancer. The angio inhibitors work by not allowing your body to form new blood vessels. This is only done in your body under 3 circumstances: pregnancy(ie: the horrendous birth defects caused by thalidomide in the 50's), wound healing, and tumor formation. Endiostaten is a protein, so I was really interested in that:) on my Merlin search:) I don't have a link anymore, but if you put anti angio-genesis in your browser a lot of info would come up. -Lori:) still dating Merlin:) Re: For Vicki > Vicki & Rosemary, > > Can I get this info. as well? << Thalidomide info. >> Do you need my home > address or can this be sent over e-mail? > > Thanks, Sally > > > >

Guest guest
Lori, I looked at Endostatin a while ago and thought it looked like it had a possible application. There was something about it that made it stick out from the others for Nf2.......beats me, i can't remember . It was the Dana Ferber institute or clinic, I think. But I concluded that anti-angiogenesis drugs were only appropriate for adults, who have stopped growing. (physically that is, not spiritually, or emotionally, or intellectually or .... on 30/11/00 2:05 AM, Lori Phibbs at lphibbs@... wrote: > hmmmmm, thalidomide is the father of a whole new class of drugs called anti > angio-genesis.
