Guest guest
Hi Group, I finally got to see a new Dr. today. He was nice, but turns out he's temporary, just filling in until the replacement is hired to take the place of my former GREAT Rheumy. That's ok, he spent a lot of time with me, did a thorough exam, and ordered many blood tests. He's afraid my vitamin D may have crashed on me again and that's why I might be having the hand cramps. He gave me a shot in my left pinky finger (yay!) it feels better already. He read the MRI report of my back and can see why I've been in all the pain I've been in, and mentioned something interesting about MTX that I thought I'd share. I told him I get fuzzy when I take it. He said that it's possible my body might have become used to the pills and it may be time for the injectable, but aside from that, he said to curb the side effects of mtx, to go and get some robitussin, even store brand as long as it had guafinessin as the main ingredient and to take it 1 hour before taking the mtx....this should help. I started that today, so far so good. It's not perfect, but it is better. I'll take anything! I guess depending on test results , we'll talk Tuesday, and decide if I see him again, or wait for the new rheumy to arrive at my old place. Guess he doesn't want to take on any new patients, fine with me, I want to stay at my old place it's closer to home! Hope you are all well today, Heidi, sore in Mass today **************Looking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget? Read reviews on AOL Autos. Guest guest
Heidi in Mass, I am glad that you had a good experience with you temp rheummy. What a wonderful trait for a doctor to have, listening. Let us know how it goes, we benefit from each other. So nice to hear your finger feels better too, but I am sure the shot wasn't pleasant. The things we do for relief! Hugs to you Hon, Shirley > > Hi Group, > > I finally got to see a new Dr. today.
