Guest guest
Hi Group, Yesterday I read something really interesting. A study in the UK found that if a woman's ring finger was longer than her index finger, she is more likely to develope arthritis. This does not apply to men though. Has anyone else seen anything about this? I thought everyone's ring finger was longer. Shirley
Guest guest
Shirley Seems like I recall hearing the same a few years back. Have no idea if it's true or not but at the time do remember looking down at my hands and thinking " doesn't that figure " . Although like you I thought everyone's ring finger was longer. Guest guest
I recall reading something about length of fingers, but I don't remember specifically what it was. My index fingers are just slightly longer than my ring fingers. Actually, my index fingers may be even longer since they have worse deformity and that may have shortened them a bit too. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of nana2livi Sent: Thursday, August 28, 2008 5:21 AM Subject: [ ] length of fingers Hi Group, Yesterday I read something really interesting. Guest guest
Hi Shirley - I am sure that everyone reading this post did the same thing as me - held my hand up to see if my ring fingers were longer than my index fingers - Yuppers, they are. Hmmmm...I'm going to research this out a little bit more because I think its a very interesting thought. Just like ridges on the fingernails could indicate a cardiac issue. Thanks for sharing......Doreen > > Hi Group, > Yesterday I read something really interesting. Guest guest
Hey everyone..I don't post much, but I read everything that comes through. I thought this was interesting. My ring finger is longer then my index finger. I looked at my mom's hands, which she doesn't have ra or any form of arthritis and her index finger is longer. So maybe they are onto something. Guest guest
Doreen, Ridges? I have often questioned them. Vertical or horizontal? If you say vertical, I could have dx myself! Thanks, Shirley > > Hi Shirley - I am sure that everyone reading this post did the same > thing as me - held my hand up to see if my ring fingers were longer > than my index fingers - Yuppers, they are. Guest guest
I remember that once posted an article about this. It seemed like a ridiculous study to me, but explained it well. My ring finger on my right hand is longer than the index finger, but not on the left hand. Guest guest
Sue, I have asked before why my ring fingers show the least damage and never got an answer. I even asked if they were just filler and didn't take as much of the hard work and usage. Guest guest
When my hands were swollen up like sausages, I thought it interesting that my ring finger on my left hand, where I wore my wedding ring, was NOT swollen. It was protected by the gold, I guess. Sue On Thursday, August 28, 2008, at 05:26 PM, bella_1180 wrote: > Hey everyone..I don't post much, but I read everything that comes > through. Guest guest
At the time, I googled something like rheumatoid +gold and found some articles about it. Guest guest
Shirley - yes, I think it was vertical - from cuticle to tips. Honestly I think we sometimes are more in tune to what is going on with our bodies and can diagnose better than the doctors. Trouble is, in order to get the meds needed to treat, we HAVE to let them think it was their idea **rolling eyes**..........Doreen > > Doreen, > Ridges? I have often questioned them.
