Guest guest
Hi Vicki, I have my placard now. I did speak to an attorney, and I have a valid reason to go to Boston to file a claim against them. It is just taking the time and making the effort to do it. I must admit there is also a little fear in doing it as well. I want to. Kind of to represent all of us. I know that I should. They even tried to threaten me regarding COBRA, however, I found that on line and quoted that back to them. They had nothing to say about that. This was a small start up company, and until I came along, no one challenged them on anything, let alone the big monster called FMLA. When I investigated it, I found out that they didn't have 50 employees so they didn't have to honor it. They didn't even have a separate HR department. Thank you so much for your input though. I was so frustrated when they let me go. I never had a performance evaluation, never signed anything, etc. Honestly, I think I became healthier when I left the building. Heidi in Mass. I am a manager myself with under 50 employees, in fact I have under 30 right now. I still have to honor the FMLA laws, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and there is never an excuse for not honoring a Doctors note. WOW, unless the laws are different state to state that is, I am in Iowa, these are all federal laws, required to be posted where all employees have access to view them. Have you ever spoken with an attorney about wrongful termination. They could owe you some money. As for the handicapped plates my General Practitioner had to do that for me as my Rheumy is in another state, South Dakota. But all I had to do was take the script to the DMV and they gave it to me right then. That may be a state thing though. I am not sure. Guest guest
Heide and group; Woo hoo you go girl.. I once filed a sexual harrasment charge at a company.. I figure if enough females file, he will soon be caught.. At first I didnt want to like you said, figure out about my fights.. lol. It was about the 4th girl that filed before anything was done at least there was something done. According to the lawyers it was my word against his.. After a long list of complaints it was obvious this guy was sexually harrassing women.. Woo hoo.. I am so glad I did file for all the other women who would of been sexually harassed.. If you can stop that company from being unfair to the disabled people what you have done is made a blow to unfairness.. Good for you hon. If you can make this happen,, please do it, if only to put a dent in their unfairness... God bless you. gentle hugs Clora ************************************************************* > Hi Vicki, > > I have my placard now.
