Re:is God making us sick

Okay, since no one else has said it maybe China is making us RA ill. Most

things come from there;)

To be serious- I think one can be genetically predisposed to it then if you

add a mix of stress chemicals, lowered immunity( from age, hormone changes,

recent illness) and years of foreign stuff from our air to engineered food

chemicals well you have the perfect storm for the disease to introduce itself

one day....Ren

Since it was brought up, I will very briefly give my opinion. I

believe RA and every other kind of disease to be not an " act of God " as

implying that a Supreme Being brought it on, but rather that it is an

outcome of random factors that together made things favorable for us to

come down with affliction. I believe that as beings who act

unnaturally and use and create things that exist unnaturally (try

pronouncing any ingredient on a shampoo bottle for instance), we set

the stage for our own destruction, not through our moral actions,

though the consequences of those actions can factor into the equation,

but because we go against the flow of nature. I see the earth as a

living organism, much like the human body. Inside each of us right now

are tiny microbes, some good and others not so good. Likewise, the

earth is inhabited by what could be conceived as microbes - plants,

animals, us. Many are good for the planet and some, not so good. It

may sound bad to some, but I see us in the grand scheme as cancers -

not in our noble ambitions as we define them, but rather biologically

to the planet. Through our ignorance of the natural cycles, our wastes

and byproducts are making the environment unfit for human life. Like a

virus within our own bodies, we are beset at times by what I feel is

the planet's immune system - stronger hurricanes, disease from

microbes, changing atmospheric chemistry, global warming, etc. We have

the potential to change all that around and be good microbes again, but

it may be too late now.

But I feel that the poisons we put into our own bodies - the soda, the

processed foods, the polluted air, the chemically treated water, the

heavy medications - it taxes and poisons our systems, just as our

activities poison the planet. I will try every natural path open to me

before I take something into my body that is equivalent to dumping

plutonium in the ocean.

I am not concerned with God. My concern is solely with the planet. I

put my trust in Her.
