Guest guest
Beware, their "full panel" very often does not include the frees. During my first "informed" visit, I asked both the doc and nurse, "Are you going to check the frees?" Both said, oh yes, we check everything" But to them "everything" did not include the FT3 & FT4. So I had to wait another six weeks until another lab was due. I'd call them and make sure if I were you. If it's not included maybe they can add it before the blood is gone. Blessings, Debbie K. -----Original Message-----From: suzyshank Sent: Wednesday, July 28, 2004 11:38 AMI went to the doctor, and requested a "full panel" of Thyroid blood tests, I believe it was all of the ones that you mentioned below...of course I cant remember.. Guest guest
MULTI nodular goiter? An attempt is made to shrink the nodules by suppressing the TSH with an extra amt of thyroid hormone, but with multinodular, the usual thing is to operate, once the gland starts blocking the trachea and causing extreme problems, and espcially is one of the nodules is self functioning, putting out it's own thyroid hormone, independent of the gland. Thank God for a wonderful counsellor like this one. I don't like the radioactive iodine treatment to kill the thyroid (RAI). You are not crazy, it IS your thyroid my dear. Guest guest
Hey Jamy I'm better on the Armour, but I still forgot my social security # other day, when trying to reorder my bank checks. I've memorized my SS # forever and ever and have NEVER forgotten it. I never could think of it, had to call them back. It was so embarrassing. Esp as they have studies which show that if you have a serious head injury it increases your chances for getting some form of dementia. I just keep telling myself - with memory loss you forget where you put your keys. With dementia you put the keys in the oven. Louise > alzheimers runs in my birth family. Guest guest
And I talked to my attorney's personal assistant last week and it turns out I might not get much. Co was a no fault insurance state up until July 1 last year when we became a torte state. So now insurance companies are being stingy. She was saying they had a case where they thought their client would get $30,000 and they only got $8.000 and the insurance company would not budge. Phooey!!!!!!! I should know in about a week what they think they will get. dagnabit I want that townhouse!!!! Louise PS When I was in ICU they kept me awake and had me hooked up to an automatic blood pressure machine, a thing to measure my pulse and an IV. Guest guest
I was in a car accident a year ago on the day I was flying to CA for my job interview. I was 49, sick and unemployeed, so I went after the accident the same night on a plane from FL to CA. I was hit at a stop light from the rear at 80 miles per hour while my car was stopped. I herniated 2 dics and have 5 more bulging. One that is herniated is in my neck. Because I am old and have diseases that cause spondalosis, it is considered preexisting even though they agree that the disc's were prob not ruptured but they would have been some day. I have not been able to take any time off the new job because I was not employed at the impact so I would not have recieved a salary. After the attorney and extra mediocal bills are paid, i will make 1 thousand dollars. All this while I had low aldosterone, low renin low transferrin, anemic, low ferritin low thyroid meds that I was unable to raise. >From: LestatL382@... >Reply-To: The_Thyroid_Support_Group >To: The_Thyroid_Support_Group >Subject: Re: New Member/Introduction >Date: Mon, 02 Aug 2004 00:04:33 -0000 > And I talked to my attorney's personal assistant last week and it turns out I might not get much. Guest guest
Hi, , An MRI would show if any damage remains. I had my first concussion at age 13 (feel backward on ice while skating). There have been four more since then. My MRI shows " slight " damage to the outer edges of the brain in six locations and the brain stem is " slanted " so that the brain is way off center. Nobody really said anything about the Pituitary gland, but it could been seen in the films. Guest guest
And I forgot to mention - she said if this had happened 10 years ago I would have gotten the maximum award. Phooey!!!!!! I just wish Co went back to no fault. I had PIP coverage so my insurance company has covered everything. Now there are stories in the paper where people have to sue to get the other drivers insurance company to pay their medical bills. Sorry to hear about everything you've been through.
