Guest guest
Good Luck Clora, Thinking of you today. Let us know how it went. I have my 'fingers crossed'* for you and others waiting on news.I know you will post when you can. *: just writing these words makes me think of that 'simple' action,'crossing fingers,a thing non-RA sufferers take for granted, similarly my (albeit clumsy) tapping at the keyboard when I know that doing the same can be such a painful struggle for so many of you here. Best wishes,Clora, Shirley and group. Guest guest
Tawny and Group; TAwny thanks so much. Your such a dollbaby. Oh I forgot to add I got 4 shots of steroids. One in each shoulder and one in each hip for the bursitis. I get them every 4 months. I needed them too. I also have pain patches for my back for osteo. They took a blood test at the rheumys today also. My rheumy said we will work on the osteo when we get the RA calmed down. The pain patches help a lot. I just have to have some one stick them on cause I cant put them on my back myself. I am allowed to put 3 on a day. I wanted 4 on each day but the doc said that would be to many. One for each side of my back. I didnt get the humira yet but she did write me a script for another month of prednisone woo hoo lol. gentle hugs Clora > > Good luck Clora! Guest guest
Clora, It sounds like you had a great doc visit. The shots should help you a lot. I have bursitis below my knees, it hurts so bad. Those patches will help you lots, so happy for you, way to go. I used some patches, and they never wanted to stay on, hope they work better for you. Well, I'm glad you will be able to take the Prednisone, until you start the Humira. Take care of yourself, Tawny
Guest guest
Tawny and Group; Yessssssss I had a great day at the rheumys. Omg, it feels so good where I got the shots. She made it stronger than last time. Bursitis is so painful sorry you got it too. My knees hurt also I have it on my knees too. I put patches on my knees haaaaaaa. It kept falling off. Anything that bends the patches seem to come off. Most of the time the patches stays on my back. I use alcohol to wipe the area clean of oil and they stay on. If I lie still for about 10 minutes after I get them on, they stay on pretty good. Oh it helps a lot too if you hold your hand on it for one minute, the heat from your hand activates the glue, thats what a doctor told me. I don't know what I would do without the pain patches right now for my osteo. My rheumy won't give me pain pills. The prednisone is so good too. I don't know all the side affects and I don't care. The pain is to much without them. I know one side affect and its insominia. I go to sleep about 11 pm and wake up wide awake at 3 or 4 in the morning. I don't mind. I just play my pogo games or read my posts. I only gained 4 pounds in one month on the prednisone and thats great. last time I took it for poison ivy I gained about 20 lbs. My husband and son-n-law broke the ignition and started the van. The ignition wouldnt turn it was stuck. It don't look pretty but it starts lol. My husband looked pityful today at the doctors he was so worried about our van. We really need transportation. We also have jeep cherokee a 94. We can't afford the insurance so we turned in the plates. At least we got that as a back up. I am sorry everybody. I want to write post but my hands and shoulders are always hurting. I see a lot of post where people say what I want to say and I am so glad they do that. The lady that daughter and grandaughter was in the hospital, the group was so happy they are ok as I am. Sorry I can't remember their name. I am so happy they are home and on the road to recovery. I prayed and prayed for them. God is so merciful and wants us to have life and to have it abundantly. gentle hugs everyone Clora > Clora, > > It sounds like you had a great doc visit. The shots should help you a > lot. Guest guest
Clora, What type of patches did you get? I was using Lidoderm, they did work OK, except for them staying on. I did find out later, by wiping the area first with alcohol, did keep them on better. (What good info we can find out on the group.) Yes, the Prednisone is really good, especially during a flare. I haven't had my RA meds for three weeks, and I am hurting so bad. I'm thinking about pulling out my Prednisone. I also had insomnia, which I have anyway, whether I take it or not. OMG, bursitis is so painful. I have it in both knees, actually right on the side, below the knee. Glad you got your shots, they will last awhile. Sorry about your van, I am glad you made it to your appointment. I hope you can get it fixed soon. Everything is so expensive now, it's just hard to do anything extra. I'm sure glad gas has went down. I just don't understand why groceries are still going up. I pray you will get Humira soon. Your doctor might need to holler at them again, it might get the ball rolling this time. You have a good night, and just know your in my prayers, Tawny
Guest guest
Tawny and Group; Yes, lidoderm is the patches. Yes I have my husband wipe my back with alcholol and gently hold the patch on. The heat from his hand activates the glue, hold it on about 1 minute. Oh I am so sorry you got bursitis. We are a mess lol. I put the patch on my knee once. It worked, It fell off though haaaaaaa. OMG the group has really kept me informed. Yes we can find out a lot with this group. You guys are so nice. I want to hug everyone ever so gently and make them not hurt if I only could. I pray a lot for our gentle group. I want to cry for those in so much pain. I thought I was the only sufferer with RA. I want everyone to have more pain free days. I don't want anyone to ever suffer this kind of pain. My daughter said she overdid her house work she is so sore. I said baby I have done nothing and I feel like I worked a 14 hour job. She felt so sorry for me. She has a 3 week old son. His name is Kane. He is so tiny. She lives with me. Her name is Lilly. I love having her here. gentle hugs everyone Clora ps The van is running fine. > Clora, > > What type of patches did you get? I was using Lidoderm, they did > work OK, except for them staying on.
