Guest guest
My son had one done when he was 6. They put him under in an outpatient surgery area since he over reacts to sedation. (Tylenol 3 after surgery slowed his respiratory system to almost a stop) His procedure was without incident. This is the method I recomend. I had one done on myself with just a local and screamed in pain the entire time. Good Luck ---------------------------------

Guest guest
Hi Shari, Everything was normal so nothing needed to be treated. they did an endoscopy at the same time and found evidence of reflux which has been treated with Prilosec. It turns out all my son's bowl troubles were linked to food intolerance. Once I removed everybit of soy, even the lecithin he started having normal stools. He was also vomiting daily, but the Prilosec took care of that. ---------------------------------

Guest guest
Dear , I have two boys now 7 yrs old with autism and a 9 yr. old who was thought to be ADHD but as he matures seems to be NLD. Both boys have had 3 colonoscopies and 2 upper scopes starting 4 years ago. The prep to be cleaned out is very simple usually requiring limited food intake prior to the procedure then a clean out of magnesium citrate (clear, not the red cherry you can purchase at the drug store. Red will distort the visual appearance of the G.I. tract) If you have difficulty with the kind prescribed you may want to see if the Magnesium citrate from Kirkman could be used and accepted more readily by your child. When time for the procedure the physician typically orders oral versed (spelling???) to give that " happy " feeling right before going back and getting the I.V.. If your child will not take the versed willingly as my son did not at the age of 4 for tubes in the ear I learned a trick where you mix a percent of lidocane (spelling???) with the Versed and you can administer it through the nostril and it will automatically go to the back of the throat so it is not spit out. I hope this helps. The information you can obtain from this procedure is priceless. My older son did not have obvious symptoms as severe as my son with autism yet his G.I. tract was in worse shape. We have been able to relieve the majority of the pain he had. I hope this helps Sincerely, Mika Bradford wrote: > ======================================================= >
Guest guest
Hi, my son is scheduled for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy as well as a pancreatic function testing with secretin. My question is how do you get through the day before when they can not eat . What did you do to help make that day more comfortable for your sons? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks [ ] Re: colonoscopy Dear , I have two boys now 7 yrs old with autism and a 9 yr. old who was thought to be ADHD but as he matures seems to be NLD. We would of never found out about my son's colitis if we had not done it. The procedure was no problem, they put my son out during the entire time. The prep is only difficult, but we survived on jello and ice pops. We also had a endoscopy as well at the same time since he has acid reflux problems. He picked green, pineapple and orange. Then we picked out all flavored ice pops, except the red. And all kinds of drinks (juices). This seemed to help. What ever we did not use, I returned the next day. Schedule the appt in the am, first thing, so you can wake up and go right down there, and not to worry about food again. Hope this helps. Also that stuff they have to take tastes " horrible " but we did it. ac
Guest guest
You should stop LDN the day before the colonoscopy, and resume taking it afterwards. Art -- > Hi gang, > > I need to have a colonoscopy this month. Do I need to stop my LDN a certain length of time before the surgery, since they will administer some sort of anesthesia? > > Thanks, >
Guest guest
How typical that the dr cares more about the instrument gliding than how yucky the prep makes you feel. Get the fleet prep 1 recommended for colonoscopies. one small bottle of phososoda and 4 teeny tiny viscodil (sp?) tablets. beats drinking the jug of go lytley, half lytley or the 2 bottles of phosos soda. Hugs..a The surgeon that did my colonoscopy about six years ago said that he liked Go Litely because it allowed the instrument to glide smoothly. I hated it, and next time I have to drink it, I'm definitely not going to drink it all! Sue ************** New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination.
