Guest guest
Hi Elaine: I have had the cortisone shot done several times on my back. By the next day all pain was gone. My back pain didn't return for quite some time. My back dr. froze the area, and gave me the shot. Very little pain from it. I highly recommend this procedure. It gave me so much relief. Wishing you pain free days, and good luck if you decide to take the shot. Guest guest
Hi Elaine: I have had good results every time I got a shot, and yes, it lasted a long time, and was very effective. I have had the shots in my back, shoulders, knees, and the bottom of my feet. The foot shots kill, but work really good. Good luck at your dr. appt. Wishing you pain free days. I'm wondering as the first time I had one in my hand; the relief lasted some months; I have just had it redone and the effects have only lasted weeks this time. > > Hugs and thanks from > Elaine > > Hi Elaine: > > I have had the cortisone shot done several times on my back. Guest guest
Hi Elaine: You are most welcome. I know you will feel so much better after you get your back shot. After 5 years of daily Pred. I put on some weight, which I hate. Until I get off it, I can't do anything about it. Try as I have, I can't get off the Pred. I have to come to terms with it, be thin and suffer pain everyday, or stay on the Pred. and be pain free. Wishing you better days ahead, and pain free days. Hugs, Barbara > > Hi Barbara > > Thanks so much for your words of encouragement; I'm counting down the days now until it's done. What's really frustrating is that I've tried hard to lose weight over the past six months - I'm now much less wobbly but also much less mobile! > > Hugs from > Elaine > > Hi Elaine: > > I have had good results every time I got a shot, and yes, it lasted a > long time, and was very effective. > > I have had the shots in my back, shoulders, knees, and the bottom of my > feet. Guest guest
Hi : In the beginning when I got diagnosed with RA, I was in such pain and suffering, she put me on 60mgs. a day of Pred. for a few weeks. I eventually was able to get on 5mgs. a day, which I stayed on for a long time. I fell and broke my shoulder and foot during a bad RA flare in Aug., and my Rheumy put me on 10mgs. a day of Pred., which I am still on. I will see her in a few weeks, and she will decide what dose I need to be on then. My flare is gone, I feel good, and have no RA pain or swelling. Thank God. Who knows how long this will last. Hope this information is helpful. Wishing you pain free days. Take care of yourself. Guest guest
Hi Dennis: It is so great you don't have to worry about taking off the Pred. weight most of us gain. I am glad you are tapering off Pred., and maybe you will be able to stay on a very low dose for awhile. Hopefully, this current flare will be short term, and you can continue lowering your dose, and eventually be off Pred. When I fell, I only had one small pill left of Pred., and I would have been off it. In the future, I will try again. See what happens then. We all need dreams........ it keeps us going!!! I hope you will feel better soon, and wishing you pain free days.
