Sue and group;

I been looking for who said " The luck of the draw " I found it.. and

you said it lol. Yes it sometimes is the luck of the draw. My

family has done pretty good. Out of 20 blood uncles and aunts and 9

brothers and sisters and about 90 blood cousins Me and grandma was

the only ones with RA. I am so glad they don't have it. Its the

Luck of the draw.

gentle hugs

have had many many surgeries because of it and have almost died a

couple of times from medicine side effects, etc. That said, when I

hurt I am happy

> to get out of bed, when my hands hurt, i am happy to have hands and

when my hips hurt, i am happy I can still walk. There ARE worse

diseases out there that rob your brain of normal function, etc. Be

happy for the family, friends you have, be happy for what you CAN do,

not what you can't, if you are having a bad day, tomorrow will

probably be better for you. Look at the glass as half full, not half

empty. This year alone, I have had 3 neck surgeries, was hospitalized

for 5 months, developed fluid around my heart and lungs and my family

was told it was doubtful i would make it. I am so happy to be

alive !! All of you will be ok, keep your chins up, someone out there

always has it worse than you..........God Bless..........Jen

Only three people in my family got RA. My mother's sister got it, but

she died of lung cancer. The daughter of another of her sisters has RA,

plus several other autoimmune diseases such as scleraderma. I was a

heavy smoker for over 30 years, and I think maybe that may have had

something to do with the fact that I got RA. I do like to assign blame,

LOL.

Hi Sue - I don't think that sounds too far fetched. I used to smoke

and someone once told me that smoking has been linked to RA. So, I

don't think its so much blame as fact. I just don't remember where I

read or heard that **rolling eyes**...........Doreen :)

Yes, has posted articles about the relationship between smoking

and RA. Of course, lots of people smoke and don't get RA. Maybe they

just get lung cancer, which would be even worse.
