Guest guest
is one that I wish isn't used. It's always used when one is starting a new med. This is all because of the misread or over-read 'side-effects'. I don't understand how a person will absolutely trust his/her doctor without question but cannot believe the medicine that has some small possible side-effect is one to take. I participated in a clinical trial while in the hospital for RA med induced pneumonia, so I have a first-hand experience. If I scratched my nose or sniffed once, it was recorded. Celebrex was almost wiped off the charts because the percentage of failure of this drug. This side-effect was suddenly 3 times what had been normal! It turns out that the '3 times as much' was a ratio of 3 per 100,000 instead of the documented 1 per 100,000. Percentages are not to be absolute. The doctor and manufacturer know the real numbers but advertising make it sound much worse by playing with numbers that you and I are privy to. Just my opinion, Dennis in eastexas
