Guest guest
It is the only drug I am taking besides an antibiotic for RA and PA right now. There is also a generic available that is a lot cheaper now. Guest guest
, I was on Arava for a while, and it worked very well to control the pain and inflammation. Unfortunately, it continued the decline of my white blood cell count that MTX had started, so I had to stop using it. We all react differently to medications, and you may not have any adverse side effects. Sue On Sunday, November 9, 2008, at 10:30 AM, ktandtm wrote: > My doc told me to stop the Sulfasalazine. Guest guest
Hi , I started with MTX then had to stop after about 3 months because of the side effects (altho it worked great for my joints!). Sulfasalazine made me sick as a dog and I stopped it within 2 weeks. I've been on Arava for about 6 months. It is moderately effective as it keeps most major inflammation away although I have had repeated flares. I've had very few side effects. It seems to be nicer to my system, but not a heavy-hitter like the MTX. After 6 months on it, I'll be adding a biologic in the next week. But always remember, everyone reacts to different meds differently. What works for one person might not work for another.
