Guest guest
Like you, I drink maybe 3 or 4 cups of coffee a day. It never made a bit of difference in my treatment and my AP doc said everything in moderation was fine. If you love coffee, go for it. Everybody needs a bit of comfort, and a good hot cup of coffee is great on a cold morning. Just remember not to drink it loaded with milk within two hours of your meds. Calcium bonds with the Minocin and keeps it from doing its job. Martha
Guest guest
I have noticed lately that whenever I drink coffee or tea on an empty stomach I get very loose bowel movements. I think that the caffeine is what does it. I used to have the go to the bathroom after I drank expresso, but now it seems to be anything with any caffeine in it. It is just in the past month or so that this has been an issue. I used to be able to drink tea with absolutely no issue. Why would my body suddenly be doing this? Any ideas? Guest guest
Gerald: Did the espresso your mother and/or her friend have milk in it? My understanding is that milk negates antioxidants. Guest guest
Caffeine-type substances in chocolate and tea can cause high blood pressure and liver problems too. I recently was having stomach/liver pains after eating, and read about caffeine as a source of liver/gall bladder problems. I was trying to drink 3 cups of oolong or black tea in an effort to boost my metabolism to lose weight. I was also eating 1 oz serving of cocoa powder a day. I quit all of the caffeine and also stopped eating nuts, which I was eating 2-3 servings a day on the Budwig diet. I was even soaking the raw Brazil nuts and almonds to remove enzyme inhibitors. I also started being sure to take papaya/pineapple enzyme tablets with meals and started drinking peppermint tea since one site listed it as helpful to dissolving gall stones. I also make tea from Milk thistle seed and Artichoke leaf tea. Anyway, I haven't had more stomach aches. Guest guest
There are so many factors, one cannot eliminate all of them with a magic wand so only one applies. People have cured their colon cancers with a raw food diet. Perhaps in addition to consuming espresso someone could also be eating bacon daily, barbecuing pork, frying and grilling meats, smoking, not using dairy which is protective, not eating raw vegetables, etc. On Feb 28, 2008, at 10:01 AM, Walter Malinowski wrote: > From: gerald.fiore > Hehehe - your joking right? Guest guest
I think when the liver is clean, caffeine is well tolerated and it can be beneficial but when the liver is clogged up caffeine causes irritability. Just guessing since that was my own case. I used to get tired yet I'd have insomnia from coffee drinking. I was irritable too but without the caffeine to keep going, I was just as much a wreck. Blood type may play a role too. Why do some people fall asleep after a cup of coffee and others are kept awake all night? My fatigue, brain fog, etc all went away with cleansing and now I can not only tolerate caffeine but it doesn't irritate me at all or make me acidic. Of course it might also have to do with me discovering the dangers of all the chemicals in the coffee and switching to organic. So many variables, I wonder if it would ever be possible to find out!
