Dear Colleagues,

Greetings from UNAIDS India.

As you are aware UNAIDS is a joint UN co-sponsors' programme on

HIV/AIDS. The co-sponsors expand their outreach by jointly working

through strategic alliances with other UN agencies, national

governments, corporations, civil society etc. The UNAIDS Secretariat

operates as a catalyst and coordinator of action on HIV/AIDS.

As engagement with NGOs is strategic to the work of UNAIDS, we are in

the process of setting-up a web based portal " NGO Gateway " to assist in

strengthening the NGO sector through capacity building and networking.

The gateway will integrate the existing networks, provide a search

engine to search their portals and other relevant sites, tools and

resources and provide NGOs an easy to use interface to build and manage their

web presence on this site. The consultative methodology and tools used for

developing this Gateway will ensure it responds to the needs of the civil

society.

A common information gateway portal will also assist in collaborations, avoid

duplication of effort and facilitate analysis to identify gaps and interventions

needed for effective programme support.

With your valuable experience on available information and constraints

faced, your support and help is critical to the success of this

initiative.

Please click on this link Questionnaire

<http://drtc.isibang.ac.in/unaidsforms/question/ngo.php> (or

copy-paste in the address bar of your browser, the link:

http://drtc.isibang.ac.in/unaidsforms/question/ngo.php ) to access the on-line

questionnaire we have designed to assess the information needs to which the " NGO

Gateway " portal should respond.

As a part of the resources on the proposed portal, this survey tool will be made

available to the NGOs later for doing their own on-line surveys.

In case of you have any questions or suggestions, please do contact me.

Thanks you for your time and help.

With best regards,

Ranjan
