I could not afford the expensive ones...I was put in contact with Circle of Friends and the cancer center and they paid for my first prosthesis and two bras....these are heavier than just the regular falsies...and stay in place better.....I also went to the American Cancer Society and they let me go through what they had to offer and I got a prosthesis there....it did very well until it started coming apart.. talk to the Social Worker Cordinator....maybe they can give you some help.... However, a friend invited her to Greece with her so she will be gone this week...I will have her call you if you would like. She is wonderful; I couldn't manage without my Ann Ward. The shop by the way is called Just Like You and is in West Monroe. She is open only on Tues. through Thurs. She does home visits to customers who can not get out on the other days. Lynn I am sorry to hear this news. You know tho > I had a partial mast, and I wish I had gone for the whole kit and > kaboodle. Guest guest
Thanks Doris, and I do agree with you. I guess I just had to have my one-day pity-party before picking up the fight again. Guest guest
- You will have all of us to help you thru. Posted by nne 2/19/00 message # 9411 I have always thought this should be our club poem. We all have come here for love and support. I feel God sent me here to help me thru this and now I feel blessed to know all of you. This poem said it all to me. The Angels An Angel here, and Angel there, I'm surrounded by Angels everywhere When I'm in the middle of a terrible storm They come with their candles to keep me warm. An Angel to comfort, an Angel to guide, An Angel to fill that dark hole inside. An Angel to cry on, an Angel who cares, I'm surrounded by Angels everywhere. The Angels who reach out when times are rough Who'll listen to my heartache and all kinds of stuff. Bright in the sunshine and in the dark of night The Angels surround me with comforting light. I guess God is busy and can't come down To give me a smile and take care of my frown So he sent me these Angels to brighten my day And help to carry my burdens away So thank you, dear angels, more than you'll know For watering the happiness and making it grow. Guest guest
: My aunt is on Medicare and she gets 6 bras a year and 2 prostheses (single mastectomy). My insurance only pays for 2 bras and 2 prostheses. When I still had one boob, it paid for 2 bras and one prosthesis. ... I don't wear a bra since the 2nd mast., so I just donate them to the store's "angel closet" for those who don't have insurance at all. See ya in OKC soon! Also, you might want to talk to the lady who fits both me and Cheryl for our prosthesis and bras...her bras are not that expensive unless the price has changed in the last month or two. Lynn I am sorry to hear this news. You know tho I had a partial mast, and I wish I had gone for the whole kit and kaboodle. I have a breast that doesnt fill out a bra and the nipple is pointing straight up while the other is letting nature take it course with. You know hanging down the belly. lol Anyway good luck with the next surgery. > Hugs > Jeana >

Guest guest
Well my stupid insurance told me that they will pay for one bra in my lifetime. Isnt that great, I would like them to wear their underware for the rest of their life. Paints an ugly picture huh. Jeana
