The 3rd STI & HIV Certificate Course for Medical Practitioners

Chennai, 24th February to 4th March 2007

This certificate course is oriented towards the practical

application of STI and HIV/AIDS management and relates directly to

managing cases within primary care. The course aims to meet the

needs of doctors who are not STI specialists but are keen to develop

their skills in this field, both theoretical and practical. It will

use a variety of interactive training techniques, including hands-on

clinic and laboratory sessions, mannequin practice, interactive role

play and informal question and answer sessions with national and

international faculty.

The training organizations are:

1. The Indian Association for the study of Sexually Transmitted

diseases and AIDS (IASSTD & AIDS)

2. The consortium of Thai Training Institutes for Sexual Health

and HIV/AIDS (COTTISA)

3. Faculty from Nottingham City Hospital, St. 's Hospital,

Portsmouth and the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital, UK.

Supported by the Resource Centre for Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS

(RCSHA), New Delhi

Eligibility Criteria: MBBS doctors employed in any sector, who see

STIs as part of their work or would like to develop a special

interest in this area. An in-depth understaning will be given of

syndromic and laboratory diagnosis and management.
