How strong are those glass bottles? Would you recommend them for someone who

manages to break at least one blender jar a year?

I buy RO water from " The Water Store " for 35-cents/gallon in

five-gallon glass bottles.

Oh well, good to know. No lumber jacks in this house, just two bad backs and

a kid.

The bottles are very strong (about 1 cm thick) but they are also very

heavy when filled with water and are awkward to maneuver--

Here is a link to a RO system that I considered. it was around $320. the

filters were reasonable to replace.

I did extensive research but our water doesn't have Fluoride and is fed from

the mountains. I went with a whole house filter (carbon) to remove chlorine

and ammonias and whatever else carbon does.

Be careful about the multilevel marketing filters.

I am a former engineer and spoke with many in the field about filtration.

Just buy what you need to filter out and don't get sucked into more.
