Guest guest
K Dean, since you brought up Cargill, It looks like (from the chart on www.certifiedorganic.bc.ca/rcbtoa/) Cargill bought Hain Celestial in August, 2003. Hain Celestial owns Arrowhead Mills, Debolle's, Garden of Eatin', Farm Foods, Nile Spice, Earth's Best, Walnut Acres, Westbrae (Bearitos, WestSoy, Little Bear), Celestial Seasonings, Health Valley, Casbah, and Imagine/Rice Dream/Soy Dream. I bet you eat their products too. No wonder the organic manufacturers are trying to weaken the national organic standards, they are now owned by " the enemy " ! - Renate Cargill will be very happy they > are all eating this food. Guest guest
Since I eat mostly organic fruits and veggies and locally raised meat and eggs, I probably don't consume much (if any) of these companies products. But, I appreciate the list, and will check my cans of coconut milk, and whatever other very few packaged food I have to see if any of these companies are on there. Are any of them involved in raising organic veggies in California? Do you have a web link with these names? Thanks for this info! Guest guest
http://dominionpaper.ca/agriculture/2005/11/24/mcorganic.html This is one more reason to try and find local farmers to obtain one's food. It is not healthy to not think about nutrition void of ecology. _____ Never mind... I see the link!
