This is pretty hilarious, both your post, and the article. I needed some humor.

You have some great links in this Aquarius article (including one cholesterol and health). You have some great insight, and I really enjoyed reading about happy animal foods and some of the food ideas (especially now that food is back in my life, lol). I also believe humane treatment of livestock is so important, so I am glad you brought that up. What these animals eat and how they live influences our health when we eat them. I do have a question, though, about this: " Since the Aquarius symbol is a human, it isn't a stretch to consider eating more pork - from happy pigs of course. Pigs are biologically similar to humans and are considered a tonic in traditional Chinese medicine for this reason. They also score high on intelligence tests for animals. " I have only recently been eating pork. Pigs ARE very similar to humans. Many diseases are shared, which is why I shunned it for so long. Well, that and my term of vegetarianism. It is true that many east Asians eat ample pork. I was unaware that they considered it a tonic because of the similarities. Do you know more about why this is so? Vibrantly, Deanna

I am not an expert on Chinese medicine. Many things are considered tonic. According to acupuncture.com, pork " moistens and nourishes organs, tonifies chi, strengthens the middle burner. " Another book I have on " Chinese Food Cures " recommends pork for " diabetes, underweight, dry cough, constipation. " The average person eating pork may not say it is for tonic qualities. I couldn't find an online reference to the human similarity concept. But it makes sense that if pork flesh is similar to our chemical makeup, we could make good use of it. cheers,

Isn't anyone worried that associating claptrap like astrology with sound nutritional science will undermine the credibility of our sound nutritional science in the minds of the undecided and uneducated? (And when I say 'uneducated' I simply mean uneducated on the topic of sound nutritional science.) -
