Cheryl,

Sounds like you had a similar experience during your attempted biopsy as I had!

She finally got a sample after quite a bit of difficulty getting through the

cervix but told me it might not be enough for the pathology study, which turned

out to be the case. I had a D & C a few weeks later to get a biopsy sample, which

turned out to be normal. In my case, the fibroids had begun growing very

rapidly and this is why my GYN wanted a biopsy.

Anyhow, I'm glad it's all over for you and that now you can relax.

Leonie

I don't know. I think your age might also be a factor when looking at the

thickness

of the stripe. . . .

Hi Cheryl,

I just had an endometrial biopsy done today and like you, they couldn't get

into the uterus because the MD said a fibroid is probably blocking it. It

wasn't a pleasant experience still having cramps four hours later. Anyway,

she didn't say anything about the Ultrasound being able to test for

endometrial cancer. I just had a hysterosonagram done right after my period

and it did show the thickness of the endo lining 12mm. Do you or anyone know

about this. I need to have this biopsy done because I decided on the UAE

because my only other option is hysterectomy because of the position of the

large fibroid. I was told by two MD's there would be nothing left of the

uterus to sew back together once they took out the fibroid. Any help would

be appreciated.

Thanks.

Carol

that sounds more like adenomyosis than fibroids-----------did you get

definite fibroid dx or no---------i was also tld same thing during my endo

biopsy on 3/20=====couldnt find uterus thought fibroid was in the

way-----------it ended up being a parovarian cyst that was blocking hte path

------------ w/adeno they cannot do myo cause it would take most of uterus

due to diffuse nature of adeno in muscle of uterus-------please let me know

how all of your tests come out

thx and take care

,

It's fibroids, 1 big one and two smaller ones. Does anyone know anything

about MRI to rule out endo cancer. If they can't get an endo biopsy, i'm

worried they won't let me have the UAE.

thanks.
