My first Amiga was a 500. Later I had a 3000, a 3000T, a 1200 and a

4000. I still think the 3000 was one of the best computers ever

made, though the desktop version sure made getting to the CPU and

memory a trial of patience.

I mourn that platform every single day I use my Windows box.

Have you been following the latest travails of the OS?

Hi :

I have looked at Amiga web pages from time to time but the only thing

I was aware of was Amiga was just the OS now. I am not aware of the

situation with the latest OS. I think I have 3.1 in my desktop A3000.

They've actually released a PPC machine to run OS 4, but the OS is

also available by itself. I don't suppose there's much chance of the

platform rising, Phoenix-like, from the ashes, but I guess there's

always irrational hope. 3.1 is the last version I used myself. In

many ways my Amigas were snappier than my PC even though my PC

hardware is infinitely faster.
