Dunno how NT it is, but lots of the alternative minded folk use Knudson

Recharge. Just fruit juices and salt.

IIRC, ginger beer and cider were the hot weather thirst quenchers of the

pioneer days....

Fresh coconut water has an almost identical macronutrient profile to

Gatorade and is loaded with micronutrients.

I couldn't hack through the peeled coconut sold at Whole Foods. Has

anyone a suggestion? Other than running over it with my car?

Young Thai water coconuts are best because they contain much more water than

mature coconuts. Hard to find, though. Either will work.

I use a drill. I've got a stainless steel 3/8 in bit that I keep for

kitchen use only and I drill two holes in the top of each coconut and pour

off the water. I'm a former remodeling contractor, though, so I keeping a

cordless drill in the kitchen is the norm...
