, what are you doing now? Tell us about your program, meds, what

you're eating, exercise, etc. and we'd be glad to give you our opinions :-)

Many of us have achieved excellent control.

Congratulations Kim. You can be the poster person for successful control.

Just for my curiosity, what diet plan are you using and type of exercise?

I am using the basic diabetic pyramid (food exchange) but

am consming fewer calories and carbohydrates than the dietician

set as my max for weight maintenance. I have been in an

aggressive diet mode since January of last year. The decrease

in carbs and the steady loss of weight has allowed me to gain

good control and get off meds.

I also do between 1 and 1 1/2 hours of exercise daily. This

ranges from walking (4 miles) to aerobics type exercise to

riding a stationary bike. In addition to that I have also been

doing abdominal or other specific exercises to firm up selected

areas.

I want to lose 10 more pounds before I stop dieting this

aggressively then I will relax a little and work on figuring

out what I have to do in order to maintain my weight and

BS goals.
