Given how much egg the government got on its face over the failure of

WMDs to show up -- and not just egg on its face, but a wholesale

erosion of its popular support -- I have a serious time considering

this could possibly be true. Admittedly, the current administration

cares little whether the public likes what it does, but still, they

have to be concerned about future elections.

At any rate, while the overall topic is a perfectly legitimate one

for this list, it must include the POLITICS tag so that those who

aren't interested in political discussions don't have to bother with it.
