Guest guest
They should be the same because you aren't heating it. I think there are more benefits to kefir made with raw milk than raw milk alone. You are drinking a fermented product that now has up to 30 different strains of probiotic. Of course, this is assuming you are making your own kefir from raw milk and no buying it in the stores. Is anything at all lost by drinking strickly Kefir? Guest guest
Theirs is one of the best. McAffee has been to Florida a couple times to speak and has also helped one of our farmers here that I buy most of my milk from when the state started harassing him last year. Guest guest
We are VERY lucky to have Mr. McAffee here in CA. He is a hero for sure! Question: Does drinking kefir (made, of course, with Organic Pastures raw milk), have the same probiotic value as, say, Primal Defense or any of the other leading probiotics? And, how much does one need to drink to get the value? Love, Pamela ALLYN FERRIS <aferris7272@...> wrote: Theirs is one of the best. Guest guest
Allyn, > They should be the same because you aren't heating it. Heating milkfat actually creates CLA. I was surprised to learn this recently when I was doing some conference paperwork stuff for WAPF that required my reading of some of the literature published by the speakers. There is a CLA expert speaking who had authored a comprehensive review that cited several studies showing that heating linoleic acid in butter causes CLA to form. Guest guest
Well, it's hard to say about the pro-biotics issue and kefir mainly because each strain is different. I personally do not take other pro-biotics anymore. Kefir is one of the few things that you can take to rebuild your colonies in the gut. If I had Candida or other issues I might consider taking other pro-biotics but for the past couple years it has only been kefir for me. Last year I was around a lot of people that were sick and did not get sick. But I did get sick while on vacation but I allowed myself to get run down and was not getting the sleep I need. I am working on my poor stressed adrenals so I really have to get my rest (guess I was having too much fun). Anyhow, I caught an upper respiratory from the lady who cut my hair. She had had hers for over a month and was unable to kick it. I did get through mine in a little over a week. I will also mention that my weakest point is my lungs as I have had pneumonia and ever since that is were my weakness is. A couple years ago I would have gotten bronchitis and would have been very sick. So, I feel my system has definitely gotten healthier looking at the whole picture. I also did not take drugs to get over the illness but rather took Echinacea and a few other things. I am not trying to tell you my sick story but rather that my consumption of kefir I feel has most definitely improved my immune system. Whew, got through that. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Do you know how high the temp should be? Are you talking melting it minimally over, say cooked veggies? I would not heat milk, but it may indicate that cooked butter like ghee has some advantages over raw butter, although raw butter might have different advantages over ghee. Also, it isn't clear how important CLA is in relation to other nutrients. Most research on it is preliminary and ambiguous.
