Guest guest
I was disgusted to see that the last time I got my strips -- my insurance pays for them -- the doctor had stipulated " up to 3 times a day " . In other words, if I test more and run out, I'll have to pay :-( Sandy ------------------------------------- You said you were " only scheduled to take BG before going to bed. " Who scheduled you? Was it your doc? Testing one hour before bedtime isn't going to tell you anything about how food affects your BGs. Diabetes is a proactive disease -- the more you get involved in your care, the better it is for you -- don't be a passive patient and expect the doctor to tell you what to do. Guest guest
I'll have to talk to my son about getting a Soft-Tac meter for him... he's a voice teacher/music director and plays the piano a lot. He's also learning guitar.... sounds like that would be perfect for him. By the way, I've read that tea tree oil helps heal sore fingers. Anyone ever try it? Sandy ------------------------------------- I am in love with my Soft-Tac meter....takes readings on the arm. Testing is not a problem and it was a problem before with sore fingers
Guest guest
Explain to him why you need to test more. It's no skin off his teeth how many strips you use, so maybe you can convince him to write for more -- try for eight a day. . Vicki, I'll have to... and the nurse practitioner will be the one to listen and to change it. This is the doctor who didn't want me to test, and the nurse practitioner suggested that I test myself anyway, and wrote a letter to the insurance company to see that my strips were paid for. She told me the doctor didn't approve of patients self testing, but she's the one I saw. Then, recently, she sent me to an endocrinologist to get back on track when my blood sugar started going out of control. Sandy
