Guest guest
Okay, what's with the iffiness concerning vitamin D content of pork lard? This WAPF article has pork lard right under clo for quantity. http://www.westonaprice.org/basicnutrition/vitamindmiracle.html#food Then I hear from another source that this number is not so correct necessarily (hopefully this source will step forward and clear things up in whatever way s/he can). Well, I bought an organically pastured pork early this summer, so I am a wee bit concerned about possible high D content considering I enjoy outdoors under 35 degrees N and feed all my clan Blue Ice clo twice a week and eat fish regularly and all that. And I don't get my 2 lambs, beef and chickens for a few weeks, and thus have found pork beckoning more and more lately (and it is very good, btw). This pig was fed quite a bit of excess pastured raw goat milk among other goodies if that has any bearing. I have never eaten much pork, but since I buy all my meat from whole properly raised Texan animals for the most part, I thought I'd give it a whirl. So, short of testing, which I have no reason to do short of symptomatic concern, should I cut out clo until winter? Can anyone give some round about numbers on D for pastured pork? Muchos Gracias, Deanna
