I wrote in a week or so ago about my ponderings that perhaps people

need to drink raw, fermented grains to help them digest the grains in

their diets. I'm curious if you react badly to unpasteurized beer

(yes, they usually heat the beer to kill whatever's alive in it then

add carbonated water!) and if there's ever been a time where you

consistently consumed raw beer and grains and noticed a difference?

Just because most cultures who consumed grains also fermented them -

into alcoholic drinks. The drinks contained a lot of the enzymes to

break down the proteins and carbs in the grains. If drinking alcohol

doesn't appeal to you, there's a drink called " rejuvelac " that is

sprouted grains fermented in water for a number of days, then you

drink the water, which is fizzy and sour. It's supposed to do wonders

for digestion. If you ever try it, will you let me know?

I get digestive problems from store bread, but am fine on my homemade

sourdoughs, though too much white flour sometimes gets me (kids like

it lighter, and you can't really make a decent cinnamon swirl bread

out of all grain, the flavor dissapears!)
