Guest guest
Emma, I used to be an ordinary SAD eater until age 38, when I had colon cancer - in a family where we die early of cancer or heart. So I rotated my ways 180° to eat " Dr Weil's type diet " (called after dr Kousmine over here). I stuck to it because it was so efficient on my vitality and on my psyproblems (I had used to be a borderline person). At age 45 I had ulcerative colitis (autoimmune disease akin to Crohn; I guess you know). This is where you might be intererested. It was a soft kind of " body crying to be heard " . I was not too worried but I consulted a gastro: he had me take Pentasa (amines salicylées). The day after it was a disaster. I started losing pure blood, it got worse. After three days I stopped the medecine. I went on losing 30 pounds in a month. I could not digest anything anymore: food would come out the way it went in. I decided not to use any more medecine, even homeopathy. I tried the extreme ways of vegetarianism at that time -> GF CF then being raw foodist. It took me a year to accept the idea of SCD although I was so weak I could not even walk or have a shower alone. I got much better with SCD and discovered, while studying my diary over those long months, that I had a kind of allergy to vegetables. Two of my homeopath doctors I consulted by phone laughed of course. I know now it was a kind of salicylates reaction. Could it be that the strong reaction to Pentasa started the reaction to salicylates? This would explain why I got over it (by the way doing an homeopathy thing a few years ago that reverted the " Pentasa shock " ). I still cannot overdo it with salicylates but not the way it used to be. I thought it might interest you in your research.
