Guest guest
I prefer to look beyond the obvious hype in articles such as the one written by G Lean and J Owen. There is an ever present smear campaign being waged at all times by the media. AOL is an obvious example, as is The Independent. If their preferred party was in office, they would fail to link every foul odor that comes along to their party. It's all about agenda. If no proof ever reveals itself, there will be no retraction; their purpose is simply knee-jerk politics. There was no evidence cited. Journalists are hired to spew the opinions of their employers, make no mistake about that. What is really pitiful is the gullible public inhales the spin and rushes to spread the gilded facts, and then worst of all vote without due diligence. I believe there is an ongoing struggle between impulsive ignorance and researched truth. Our nation is too precious for such callowness which threatens us every election. When acquaintances approach me with a political breath, I calmly ask them have they read in detail the DNC Platform (all 40 pages) and the GOP Contract with America. Almost without exception they reply " No " . I then tell them that after they become better informed, I will gladly discuss the differences. That ends it. -C R In a message dated 3/18/2006 12:14:50 PM Central Standard Time, haec klers@... writes: > Lest anyone think there is an actual threat from Avian Flu... > > Rumsfeld makes $5m killing on bird flu drug > By Geoffrey Lean and Owen > Published: 12 March 2006 > Rumsfeld has made a killing out of bird flu.
