Guest guest
What do you mean by " kosher salt is a scam " ? Thanks, Re: Exercise Program-Matt Furey:Christie To one and all who have an interest in this subject, Looking at Kaslow's site, he is brilliant in demonstrating his ignorance. Better than doing nothing, of course, for short term, but he (is he a 'he'? - I don't know) amazingly myopic. Strict adherence to that plan is like your car needing a major tune up, and the only thing you do is change half the plugs. The endocrine symphony has many players. Do NOT be fooled by the grouping of symptoms which suggest kidney yin(?) deficiency (adrenal problems). Following this approach is just a drugless verison of the medical model, and nothing to do w/wholistic care. And yes, wholistic SHOULD be spelled w/a 'w' - problem is, most people have issues w/using their brains. Intimately related to the adrenals is the liver, the thyroid, the hypothalmus, the pituitary, the gonads, the pancreas and the bowels; just to start the discussion. Kosher salt is a scam, and I have been telling people this for 15 years. Kosher salt was originhally used along time ago for covering meats with, to draw out all the blood - due to the tremendous change is osmotic pressures when covered in high cation concertration - and thus presumably removing any/all toxins. Salts and other spices have also been used, as you all know, for preserving, for a very long time historically. Point? Kosher salt and sea salt have nothing to do w/each other. V.C =vitamin C. Funny thing about G.heart. I was there in person when he categorically stated that food combining was unimportant. Then in later years, I have heard him advocate it. > > > > , > > > > Wonderful post! [] I can't vouch for the effectiveness of Matt Furey, but I can tell you when I got back from Maine a few months ago my brother was all excited to show me a couple of exercises a friend had turned him onto. They were bodyweight exercises which I didn't think anything of until, in typical style, my brother (who is 40 but looks a good 10 years younger) took off his shirt. Yowsa! His stomach and whole core looked fantastic! He generally speaking is always in good shape, is a great athelete, and has nice symmetry and proportion, but he hadn't looked that good in YEARS. I have told him for YEARS that bodybuilding is overrated (as is most aerobic exercise) and have unsuccessfully tried to get him to take up Olympic Lifting. He wasn't listening then but he certainly is open now to other forms of training. So again, while that doesn't say anything about Matt Furey, it is one data point in favor of bodyweight training. I also think a great advantage both for bodyweight training and kettkebells is that you don't need a gym to do your thing, which can be helpful if you lead a busy and hectic lifestyle. In my case however I LOVE the gym, having spent years and years of my life there. Plus I HATE anything that even remotely reminds of calisthenics, the stuff I grew up doing, which is why I have been less than enthusiastic about bodyweight traing. Admittedly, there is a great tool on the market called Power Blocks, http://www.powerblock.com/ which allows you to put a gym size room of dumbbells (37 pairs) into a space no bigger than 18 " x 22 " , but then we are back into that bodyshaping thing again :-) You are a libertarian because " you're willing to tolerate anything that's peaceful, and you practice the principle of live and let live – opposing the initiation of force (violence) against anyone for any purpose. Guest guest
, Can you describe the exercises your brother did? Guest guest
Just very coarsely textured regular salt. Nothing special about it, from a health POV. Matter of fact, froma 'kashering', POV, it makes much more sense to use fine ground, anyway, as the surface is orders of magnitude larger. never could figure that out. scott > > > > What is the difference b/w sea salt and kosher salt? > > -- In , Wanita <wanitawa@> wrote: > > > > > > , > > > > > > Wonderful post! Kosher salt and sea salt have nothing to do w/each other. I don't follow. Are you suggesting that sea salt wouldn't work as a preservative and would draw out water from meat?
