Guest guest
Hi All... I've been making a breakfast shake lately to try to incorporate more superfoods into my diet. I am a nursing mother of three. My baby is 3 months old. Can you think of anything else I might add to make this shake like a " multivitamin " of sorts? I'm trying to avoid taking prenatals. Does anyone know if the Rainbow Light vitamins are any good, by the way? Anyway, here's the shake recipe in approximate amounts. Kefir (from raw cow's milk) - 1 1/4 cup 2 raw egg yolks (Usually Trader Joes fertile eggs) Organic Blackstrap Molasses - about 1 T. (for potassium, iron, magnesium) 1/2 Organic Banana (for potassium, carbs) Organic Frozen Blueberries - About a handfull (for antioxidants) Acerola Powder - 1/2 t. (Vitamin C) Dolomite Powder - 1/2 t. (Calcium and Magnesium) Nutritional Yeast - 1 1/2 T. (B vitamins and protein) Liquid Kelp Drops - 6 drops (iodine for sluggish thyroid) Virgin Coconut Oil - 2 T. (MCFAs) That's it so far. Believe it or not, it actually tastes pretty good. I also take Blue Ice Cod liver oil (2 t. per day, is this too much?) and dessicated liver tablets. I am enjoying learning about the superfoods. Does anyone know of a good natural source for folic acid, or is it in the nutritional yeast? Thanks!
