For the attention of the Project Director UPSACS, Lucknow

Sub: Delay in Release of Funds

Dear Sir,

As a welcome move, following the GIPA principle, (Greater involvement of people

living with HIV/AIDS) UPSACS have appointed seven peer counselors in different

service delivery points i.e. ART centre, VCTC and PPTCT in Uttar Pradesh.

They are working in these SDPs from April or before. But till now they have not

received any amount against his/her salary.

The situation is very pathetic of these counselors, how can they survive with

virus without money.

So it is our requests to you please take necessary action before the position

goes beyond the reach.

Regards

Amitabh

Dear Forum,

Re: /message/7659

This is with reference to the issue of Peer Counsellors appointed by

UPSACS not being paid on time.

I would suggest a joint online petition be sent to the Honorable

President of India signed by as many of us as possible along the

following lines. I assure you Sir, Amitabh of my personal support to this

petition.

Dear Madam,

The Uttar Pradesh Govenrment and UPSACS has taken a welcome step in

employing People Living With HIV ( PLHIVs) as Peer Counsellors in

various capacities in teh state of UP. This is in keeping with the

prnciple of Greater Involvement of PLHIVs (GIPA).

However this entire efort has come to nought as the peer cousellors have not

been paid their dues since April.

As citizens of this country we look up to you to act on behalf of this

vulnerable group.

With Best Wishes,

Yours Faithfully,

______________

With Warm regards,

Yours truly,

Lt Col (Dr) Anil Paranjape,

Preventive and Social Medicine Specialist,

Pune.
