Guest guest Posted October 23, 2006 Report Share Posted October 23, 2006 Ok, so I turned 40 a couple weeks ago and have been falling apart ever since. Here's the story (thank you in advance for reading). Might be TMI for some! Through an exam, several internal and external ultrasounds and a cat scan, I was diagnosed as having a dermoid (cyst/tumor) the size of a ping pong ball near my left ovary about 3 weeks ago. It beng removed some time in November. Dr. says these are rarely malignant (i'd prefer 'never') but needs to be taken out. Fine. Needless to say, it's been a harrowing time. I've never been so freaked out in my life, crying all the time, worrying, not eating: I lost 4 pounds in as many days. For a few days I was drinking only coffee (yes, I know, I've since stopped), kombucha and eating yogurt. Once I got a handle on my emotions I've been eating more normal. So now I'm having bowel issues and am having a sigmoidoscopy and barium enema on Friday. These bowel symptoms didn't start happening until the whole dermoid thing and I started to worry day and night. My symptoms are: 1. very irritated colon, especially near the dermoid, especially when I pass gas or have a bowel movement.I actually wake up when I have to pass gas, it's that uncomfortable. I feel like it's pressing against whatever is exiting my body.Then everything just feels irritated for a few minutes afterwards. 2. Only 1 bowel movement a day but the last week or so they've been considerably more yellow 3. Off and on pain to the left (my left) of my belly button. Comes and goes. Sometimes feels like a heavy feeling, then pain, then sometimes gone. 4. Sometimes pain in my lower back, mostly left side when everything else is already hurting. There's more but those are the basics. My blood tests came out fine, metobolic panel and 'hemocrit' or something like that. My doctor listened to my bowel sounds and said it sounds like there's a war going on in there My question is.... what is the best thing I can be doing for my body in general right now? I take 1/2 to a whole Bio-K probiotic drink a day, 1/2 teaspoon high vitamin clo a day acerola tablets raw milk cocnut oil I eat basically NT but have slipped here and there with my b-day and then with stress.
