I believe it is very real. I have been watching my ph for almost two years

and tend to have a very acidic body so I take ph buffers. Typically citrus

fruits, especially lemons, may be acidic but in the body they become

alkaline. Don't know how but they do. Same with kombucha. It is very

acidic but in our bodies it is alkaline. I believe apple cider vinegar

would be the same way in our bodies.

It is required for our blood to maintain a certain ph or we die. All

doctors now this.

I keep hearing about how certain foods cause your body to become " more

acidic. " I'm somewhat skeptical, especially since these websites promote

eating fruits and veggies, many of which are acidic (i.e. tomatoes, citrus

fruits, etc). Also, that would be vinegar is bad.

Is all this stuff psuedo-science or is there some real basis to it?

based on the fact that some sites say something makes you acid while

others say it doesn't, I'd say while there may be some truth to it,

there's also a bit of speculation when it comes to the specifics. I

also think it's possible that the acid/base balance of the body may be

more a reflection on it's health and functioning than specificially

what you eat, but eating healthier would certainly help your health.

And that's why we have an excellent buffer system in our blood using

bicarbonate. Do web search on " blood buffer " to read about it. The

notion that eating an acid or alkaline *food* somehow messes up blood

pH definitely seems like junk science to me. Your body regulates blood

pH in an extremely narrow range because if it gets out of that range

you will die.

yes, when pH gets out of that narrow range (actually its

not that narrow its in the hundreds) you die - or become

diseased with disorders like cancer.

Monitoring your pH lets one " see " the body's tendency.

Chinese, Indian, Greek (Galean) medicine all expressed the

body's tendencies as a foundation for their medicinal

theories.
