not my stomach, but in back of my throat, that becomes particularly

acute when I drink anything, including water! If I drink anything with

carbonation, I am in serious pain. Thank GOD I gave up alcohol quite

some time ago, because pouring alcohol on it would be unbearable! Even

my absolute favorite hot sauces have been pushed to the side. After I

drink anything or eat soup (you can't take that away from me) I burp!

ME! I think there is really something going on there.

She has an appointment to see her doctor at the end of the week and we

all know he's going to prescribe an acid-reducer. Any recommendations?

Personally I think most of the time acid reducers are the wrong move. Most

of us who have indigestion, gerd, or whatever you want to call it, do not

have enough acid. I took antacids for years but now I take hydrochloric

acid and within minutes it goes away. If I was smarter I would take it

before eating but I find only certain foods bother me so I only take it when

I need it. Amazingly, I seldom have problems when I eat what I should along

WAP guidelines but I do have the most problem with breads, etc. even

sprouted and sourdough. You may find that certain foods tend to be the

biggest problem. What she is describing does not sound like acid reflux or

anything like that, though, so it will be interesting to find out what it

is.

Thank you. There are actually two friends I'm working with, one that I

quoted with the odd back-of-throat burning and one with traditional

GERD symptoms. I'm hoping to persuade the latter away from acid

reducers and toward HCl.
