Guest guest
Ok, so ever since someone who peeks her head into this list now and then got taken away in an ambulance due to scombroid poisoning from salmon, I only buy frozen salmon and always eat it the day after I move it from freezer to fridge. Yesterday, though, I had salmon that had been thawing for three days. I ate 4 oz with breakfast, and with dinner I had 12 oz and somewhere between a glass and a half and two glasses of red wine. A little after dinner, my left eye got bloodshot, felt very irritated, and started accumulating some goop. This morning, I woke up with conjunctivitis and my eye was all crusted over, and has been totally bloodshot all day, though it is beginning to get better now. Can anyone say histamines? I have noticed getting bloodshot eyes in reaction to red wine, but I always assumed it was from the alcohol. I would never have noticed a connection to salmon because it wouldn't have made any sense to me. So now I'm thinking it's the histamines. Also, I've been thinking, and it seems that lemons, sauerkraut and honey make my eczema worse. I make an apple/coconut dessert, fried in coconut oil with cinnamon, and glommed together with honey and maple syrup. I started using honey for SCD reasons, but recently I tried maple syrup. Although I still don't think this desert is particularly healthy for me, it doesn't aggravate my eczema as much with maple syrup as with honey. Honey is loaded with salicylates, and I know I react horribly to almonds and Pepto Bismol ironically gives me diarrhea with a slamming hellish headache to boot. So I'm guessing that I'm intolerant to histamines and salicylates at a minimum, in addition to dysbiosis. And, with my luck, I'm probably celiac too. LOL. Guest guest
My son was having aggression and we tested his histamine levels and they were out the roof. I started the following protocol three months ago and he is now doing great and levels are normal. SAMe 400 mg in the AM and 200mg in PM Vit C in 3 divided doses Claritin 24hr tablet once in AM L theanine 200 mg once in Am and once in PM Super Quercetin by Blue Bonnet twice a day TMG twice a day He takes other supplements but these are the ones for histamine control
