Guest guest
Dear Forum We are pleased to share with you all that BNP+ has initiated to offer SHORT STAY HOME last month for the reliefe of the people living with HIV and seeking medication & treatment at the ART center in patna. The people living with HIV come from different rural areas and face several problems of accomodation and proper treatment. They face discrimination as well, during the treament. The SHORT STAY HOME aims to eliminate such problem of the people living with HIV. The out reach worker accompainies the PLHs to proper treatment in the hospital. Moreover these people are also counsseled regularly to provide emotional/spritual help during one month of service delivery. We felt that those coming with severe opportunistic infection needed proper care in nursing. Since the SHORT STAY HOME provided accomodation and counseling support. The poor and needy people living with HIV are also provided some financial support by way of travel fare, treatment and testing cost, medicinal cost, fooding etc. We felt soory not to cater to their immidiate needs of nursing but we have innitiated talks with few Doctors to render free services to the extremely poor PLHs having severe of opportunistic infection. Majority of the people come to the hospital when they are severely affected by opportunistic inffection, there for inspite of having the SHORT STAY HOME, the nursing care urgetly recuired for their is deprived due to our limitation. We are also doing advocacy for community participation where rich and renowned people, individual service provider, clubs etc. are being vaunted with our services and their contrbution to the needy poor people living with HIV is requested. We are also pleased to share that BNP+ was awarded for the tremendous contribution in creating awareness and service delivery to people living with HIVs, and advocacy for them. The award was given by Hon'ble Transport Minister, Government of Bihar, Mr. Ajit Kumar in programe of organized by SRIJAN NETWORK, Bihar. We requisted him to avail free Bus passes to people living with HIVs. He has assured us to impliment the request as early as possible. This would help the rural people living with HIVs in accessing treatment as the amount spent on bus fare iot will be save and which can be spend on nutritional and other needs. We also acquainted him with the importance of second line drugs and hour urgently. It is needed for the doors of death. Within the network we have forty members people living with HIVs are awaiting for second line drugs. We are trying to give the best of our services with in our resources, but with additional infrastructure and resource services can be improved immensely. Thanks for all.
