He is MISERABLE at times adn wants to go back to his old sinus Dr that he went to before we married and I stopped. (I have a " thing " about medical Drs....) Hi there, I just thought I would jump in here.... the mention of the word " headaches " really gets me going. My husband suffered from " sinus headaches " from the time he was a teenager. He went through 4 years of medical school and 2 years of a neurology residency before he realized that he was, in fact, suffering from migraines. There is, actually, no such thing as a sinus headache. 99.9% of doctors misdiagnose migraine sufferers, and a very large percentage of neurologists don't recognize them either. It wasn't until my husband rotated through a neurology headache clinic that he realized that what he had suffered from all these years was migraine. You can read up on migraines on google but basically they occur when a person passes his " trigger threshold. " Triggers are definitely certain foods....but also can be other things such as oversleeping, or high/low pressure areas around storms and such. There are some triggers you can limit (food, oversleeping, etc), and others you can't (weather, etc). By eliminating the triggers you have control over you can keep from going over the threshold. One way of identifying triggers is to go on an elimination diet and then gradually reintroduce foods to see their effect. We chose not to do this because my husband was not ready for any huge change or a spartan lifestyle. Instead, we kept a headache journal - everytime he got a headache we logged down everything he had eaten in the last 24 hours. After a little while we noticed the same ingredients popping up (most of them food additives, but some natural foods as well). A few triggers that we found (and pretty common among most migraine sufferers): cinnamon, formaldehyde (in commercial maple syrup), msg (check for all the code names), red dye #40, sodium benzoate, citric acid (in all commercial canned tomatoes and even most organic ones - we use Eden or Pomi brand now), all citrus, aspartame, cocoa, nitrites in processed sandwich meats, soybean oil. I am sure I am forgetting some but this just gives you an idea. Books - I am fighting my little one for the computer now so I can't look up the exact title but I think it is Heal YOur Headache the 123 approach or something like that.... we found this to be very helpful in identifying possible triggers. Good luck with everything. Hope he starts feeling better.
Guest guest
Wow a choice of goat and cow. I pay $11.35 for a gallon of the cow milk. D. > > Good Evening! > > Though I RARELY post...I adamantly read every email that comes through the list. > > Even though I live in an anti-raw state, I am blessed to able to buy " pet " goal milk and " pet " cow milk. I have been purchasing the " pet " cow milk and letting my " pet " and me drink it. The " pet " goat milk has been used to make mozzerella for my " pet " . Annie, the puppy, LOVES both - when she gets some! :-) > > In this past Digest (I just switched to individual emails), I read that Goat milk is better than Cow milk? Since the opportunity is open for me to buy BOTH...which should I be buying for cheese and which for drinking/cooking? Goat is $8 per gallon and Cow is $6. > > Second...my husband has TERRIBLE sinus pain/headaches, bags under his eyes and such. Gluten could be at fault? What do I do???? Guest guest
I never used to get headaches, then about 7 years ago I started getting terrible headaches, until at last they lasted for days and made me hide from loud noises (or any sounds). When I treated the lyme, first with antibiotics then the salt/c protocol, I stopped having the headaches. I haven't had any for two months now (a year after starting treatment). While it was true that there probably were triggers, like pollen and low/high pressure (barometric), the fact is that there is still pollen, and we just had a whopper of a storm, but no headache. There's a difference between trigger and cause. Some in the lyme group link headaches to liver problems - the liver isn't removing the toxins it should. Personally I had liver and kidney issues that I believe contributed to the headaches. Our culture is plagued with bad habits that lead to liver problems, and interestingly it's one of the main targets of alternative healers for cancer (don't ask about the coffee enema! - but they say it clears a bad headache in minutes) - Renate > > > > Second...my husband has TERRIBLE sinus pain/headaches, bags > under his eyes and such.
