Guest guest
Hi Group, I am new to this group as of Dec 2005 and have read some great posts here. I have a 2.5 year old who has had excema on her cheeks for the past few weeks. My wife has been putting lotion on it but it has not cleared. She thinks it may be eggs or the dairy. I don't know about that. For the week my wife was out of town, I didn't put any lotion on it and it didn't clear up and was about the same. I thought it maybe the lotion and the chemicals in it. I eat and cook 99% Nourishing Traditions. And so do my kids. I don't eat refined, processed, or conventional foods and don't serve it to her. Here is what she eats: Farmer eggs, Raw milk made into kefir 1/2-1 cups per day. Raw cheese and butter Coconut oil, olive oil. NUTS- almonds, almond butter, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds Whole grains of every type, not too much wheat. Lots of quinoa and millet, oats for breakfast. (No boxed cereals at all) Hot porage for breakfast. Green veggies of many types and carrots, Etc... Meats, lamb, chicken, fish, and hamburger -yes even liver and hearts I sneak into the meat loaf. She eats it. Homemade sauerkraut (she loves it) Fruits, apples, bananas, etc... blueberries, strawberries, She does have a some boxed rice crackers, some store bought breads with yeast and cane sugar, pasteurized yogurt and cheese on occasion. My question: What can be causing the excema? And What natural lotions can I put on it to try before we take her to a Naturopathic doctor? I know there are many families with kids that read this. Any ideas? Thanks Don
