Guest guest
My dr gave me a new drug for my fibro - I am seeing a rhuematologist in about 3 weeks - but my psych is a pain specialist and gave me " NEURONTIN " 300 mg X2 at bedtime I took it the first time last night and couldn't walk this morning - I was so messed up! I stayed home from work and when i woke up again it was 4:30 this afternnon!!!!!!!!!!! I called his office and his nurse said to take just one tonight. THe dosage was to take 2 every night and in 1 week take an additional one in the mornign! Anyone ever heard of this med or used it? My fibro has done nothing but worsen since the surgery - I was in remission prior to that - I am usually better in fall and winter anyway - surgery was New Years eve 2001. Once I get up and move for a few yards - I am ok - even if I can't bend over well... Getting up KILLS me - this it the worse it's been since I was diagnosed in 1995. It seems to all be in my hips and feet now - mostly my hips... Anyone else have this problem? Feel like I am going nuts - I have lost 110 pounds in 5 months - I should be healthier - and i am - but I feel worseLOL - makes no sense to me! I still work out 3 times a week. any advice? Guest guest
Hi , I've been taking Neurontin for a few years now for the pain in my nerve endings and legs and this has helped tremendously. Guest guest
Oh Michele - I feel for you, I really really do. Unfortunately losing weight does not cure the fibro. I don't have any experience with that medication. I believe it may be for rhematoid arthritis, but not sure. I will pray that you get over this soon. Are you able to exercise at all? I know how hard it is to do when you are in pain. Take care. Don't go nuts, email me privately if you wish. Jeanne in WI Age 38 Open RNY 05/21/2002 314/ 298 /150-175 5' 8 " djgraves@... Guest guest
Hey I also take neurontin but my neurologist gave a dose of 1 cap 3 x a day . I also went into a bad flare when I had surgery but as soon as I was back on Neurontin ,zanaflex and senquin (sp) I was much better I suspect that you were kinda overdosed the combination of my drugs is to get me to sleep 10-12 hours a day but I never get over 10 max if that .Feel free to e-mail me sweetie I sure hope you feel better soon and right now the last four days I have been in a bit of a flare but nothing like it would have been without neurontin! One more thing after I take these meds I am out within thirty minutes TN Re: ANYONE with fibro - email me! Guest guest
i have fibro, gina has fibro and I believe many of us do. I take neurontin and it has helped so much. I take 3-300 mg per day and 1-600 mg at bedtime. It is an anti-seizure medication but works wonders with fibro. Good Luck. Guest guest
fibro is short for fibromyalgia - a chronic pain and fatigue type syndrome, also abbreviated as FMS. There are a lot of us here who suffer with this. Jeanne in WI Age 38 Open RNY 05/21/2002 314/ 298 /150-175 5' 8 " djgraves@...

Guest guest
I have been on Plaquenil (Hydroxychloroquine) for approx. 3 years. It has been very helpful. In fact, I was doing so well, I tried to take myself off and was quickly reminded why I needed it. I got to where I was having problems in the mornings walking again. You need to be seeing a Rheumatologist who is familar with the medication and can monitor you. (They have to check your eyes every 6 mo. / the drug insert says it can stain your retnas, however my eye doctor says he has never seen a case in over 10 years). I had none of the other side-effects that were warned either...... > fibro is short for fibromyalgia - a chronic pain and fatigue type syndrome, also abbreviated as FMS. Guest guest
Hi , I take Wellbutrin and I had to change from the SR to the kind that are crushable. The SR's will sit in your pouch too long and probably not dissolve. in California Open RNY - 03/29/02 272.5/221 - as of 06/29/02 Re: ANYONE with fibro - email me! no Vioxx post op it is too harsh on the pouch TN Re: ANYONE with fibro - email me! > here.fibro 7 years on vioxx, effexor and wellbutrin. > > In Columbus, Ohio > Mom to 7 beautiful children > RNY Open 6/26/02 > Weight 435.6/426.1/180 Goal > Dr. Choben, Surgeon > God is on my side! > > >

My Medical Doctor and my WLS surgeon are some very smart ladies and they researched all of this information and with the help of other colleges they felt that I would be fine on the Vioxx with the help of pepcid. Everyone is different as are there pouches. I researched one year and talked with 100s of people before making this decision and I know that I did all the right things and I know most of all my docs will not steer me in the wrong direction. Guest guest
, I do know a few people who are taking plaquenil for arthritis, lupus, fibro, etc.. Plaquenil is safe on our pouches but requires eye exams every 6 months.. Guest guest
As long as ghey are doing frequent checks for blood in stool, you should be OK. a few weeks cost me 4 months on huge doses of Prilosec. Cost my freind Christmas week in the hospital being transfused, no pain at all, just massive gastric bleed. Re: ANYONE with fibro - email me!
