Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Re: /message/7379 I was the founder Project Director of Andaman & Nicobar Aids Control Society, portblair from 1988 to 2005 (December). The number of cased reported- 323 people found HIV positive in Andaman and Nicobar Islands are the cumulative figures from 1981 i.e. from the AIDS Cell period till date. Mostly migrant workers. It is astonishing to find in the report where Dr.Misri Lal claims that compulsory HIV testing is done in Andamans. If this is true then NACO, GOVT.OF INDIA and other Social Organisation should come forward and the unethical practice of compulsory HIV testing should be Stopped forthwith and person responsible should be exemplerily punished. I quote the report from the news paper ''We are conducting compulsory AIDS test on all the foreign poachers of South East Asia, apprehended by Defence and Police forces for illegal fishing in Andaman Sea. Among these poachers the rate of HIV/AIDS is more,'' the project director of ANACS added. Dr.R.Thulasi Dasan, M.D. Dip.
