Guest guest
Wow, I never knew you had to transition to raw milk. We just started drinking it. Maybe make it into kefir? The lactobacilli in kefir is supposed to kill off most bad bacteria in the gut... Congrats on starting this while your kids are still small. I didn't find out about this until mine were weaned and older. Weird how kids like the cod liver oil. According to what I've been reading about the choline in eggs, there's a window of opportunity when they're around 2 where their intelligence can be increased nicely by eating an egg or two a day. Of course, that's from studies on rats that have been extrapolated to humans, so who knows how accurate it is, but still nice to know. > > I am very excited to be starting raw milk, from a farmer we know and trust (from our farmer's > market), however am wondering if there is anything special I can do to transition more easily > to raw milk, without it negatively affecting my or my son's interim digestive health. Guest guest
**My suggestion is to ask this question at the waphb (weston a price healthy babies) group. Since you have young ones you will get a lot of info from other moms who are nursing, pregnant or just wanting to learn how to feed their babies wap/nt. For the most part these are the topics discussed. It just seems like it would be a little more relevant over there. I am aware of people (non-rural) who transition to raw milk, and their digestive systems take a while to adapt to all of the new bacteria. My midwife (non-enlightened re: WAP's research) had advised not to do this while pregnant or nursing, but I foresee being one or the other, solidly for the next 3-? years. _,___
